Our new friend from Japan, Takashi, wrote to let us know that May 12, 2010 will feature the DVD release of Fanboys in Japan. Takashi also noted that on January 31st, he and others participated in Japanese voice dubbing for the eventual release. When contacted for confirmation, director Kyle Newman first threatened to call the authorities if I keep trying to use the Jedi mind trick on him for a future film role. He then was kind enough to confirm and also mentioned that Fanboys will be appearing in the Okinawa Film Festival in March. Kyle went on to add the following:

"Thanks again to the wonderful fans - they really made this happen."

Congrats to Kyle on yet another expansion of his film. A year in and still chuggin' along.

UPDATE: It looks like Fanboys will be getting a theatrical release in Japan after all. The Shibuya theater tsutaya in Tokyo will be hosting the film from April 24 to May 7, 2010. Japanese fans can find more info right here.
