John Dykstra Interview Posted By Paul on November 20, 2008
UK-based entertainment website Den of Geek has a big interview with John Dykstra, the man behind the special effects in the original Star Wars movie.
The first page of the interview is mainly about the invention of motion-control photography on the Star Wars, while the rest talks about his more recent projects. But, at the end, of course, he comes back to the sight of the Star Destroyer powering into view at the start of the saga....
Den of Geek also have an amusing editorial considering what Star Wars would have been like if the FX had been done in the style of Japanese puppet theatre, which in turn provides an interesting link to an in-depth article on how 1977 changed movie special effects, at history website American Heritage.
